Crystal View Elementary is an elementary school located at 2662 Silverstone Way, Victoria, BC. It is part of the Sooke School District. It was built in 2004, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2020. Only the pull stations in the gymnasium are original.

System Specifications (2020-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the electrical room. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is a Notifier ACM-24AT LED annunciator outside, with a disconnected graphic annunciator under it.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are System Sensor “L-Series” P2RLA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to electromechanical 15cd). The classrooms contain System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” SRA remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a System Sensor P2RLA horn/strobe outside a classroom.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations except for the gymnasium are Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations. The gymnasium has the original EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations, the original modules were removed and the switches are wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable modules, located directly behind the station.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout, mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.

Former System Specifications (2004-2020)[edit | edit source]

System Specifications
FACP: EST QuickStart QS1
FACP Location: Electrical Room
System Type: Single-Stage Addressable
System Line Voltage: 120VAC
NAC Voltage: 24VFWR
System Coding: Temporal
Strobes Synchronized: Yes, EST
Date of last known Upgrade: N/A
Year Decommissioned: 2020

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building was protected by an EST QuickStart QS1 addressable fire alarm system. The panel was located in the electrical room. The system ran EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding was temporal.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There was an EST QS1-CPU-1 LCD annunciator and an SL30 LED annunciator mounted in a QSA-1-S cabinet outside. There was also a graphic annunciator; this remains but is disconnected.

Notification appliances[edit | edit source]

All common area notification appliances were Edwards MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong). The classrooms had EST “Genesis” G1R-VM remote strobes (red, wall-mount, no lettering, set to 15cd).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations were EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations. The ones in the gymnasium remain, but have their original modules removed and are wired to Notifier modules.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There were EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout the building, mounted on SIGA-SB bases. There was also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There were EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There were Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
