Eau Claire Market was an indoor shopping mall located at 200 Barclay Parade SW, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The mall opened in 1993, and closed in 2024. The fire alarm system was mostly original.
Former System Specifications (1993-2024)
FACP
The building was protected by a Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel was located in the parkade electrical room. The system ran Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is likely temporal.
The NFS2-3030C replaced a Notifier AM2020 in March 2023; this panel lasted 30 years in service!
Annunciators
There were Notifier LCD-160 annunciators in most entrance vestibules.
Notification Appliances
All notification appliances but one were Notifier KMS-10-24VDC/P motor bells (10” gong).
There was a Mircom BL-10A motor bell (10” gong) in Canadian Blood services as a deficiency replacement.

Most pull stations were Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action pull stations.
Some areas had Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations and Mircom MS-401 conventional pull stations, both as deficiency replacements.
All stations were wired to Notifier MMX-101A addressable monitor modules, located directly behind each station.
Automatic Detection Devices
There were Notifier CPX-551A addressable ionization smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on Notifier BX501 bases.
Some areas had Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors as deficiency replacements, mounted on System Sensor B210LPA and B710LPA low-profile bases.
Modules
There were Notifier MMX-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There were Notifier CMX-2A addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
EOLs
There were Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
