HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre is a hostel located at 203 Village Rd, Lake Louise, AB. It was originally built in 1990 as the Canadian Alpine Centre. A second building was built in 1995. The fire alarm systems in these buildings were upgraded around 2017.

Main Building/West Wing (1990)[edit | edit source]

System Specifications (2017-present)[edit | edit source]

System Specifications
FACP: Notifier NFS-320C
FACP Location: Unknown
System Type: Single-Stage Addressable
System Line Voltage: 120VAC
NAC Voltage: 24VDC
System Coding: Temporal
Strobes Synchronized Yes, System Sensor
Date of last known Upgrade: 2017
Year Opened: 1990

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” P2RA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout the building, as well as Notifier FST-851A addressable thermal heat detectors in some areas. All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B210LPA bases.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.

Former System Specifications (1990-2017)[edit | edit source]

System Specifications
FACP: Edwards 6616
FACP Location: Unknown
System Type: Single-Stage Conventional
System Line Voltage: 120VAC
NAC Voltage: 24VFWR
System Coding: Continuous
Date of last known Upgrade: N/A
Year Decommissioned: 2017

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building was protected by an Edwards 6616 conventional fire alarm system. The panel location was unknown, and the model was unconfirmed. The system coding was continuous.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances were Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6” gong).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations were Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There were Edwards 6250C ionization smoke detectors located throughout. There were also Edwards 281C rate-of-rise/fixed heat detectors in some areas.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There were Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all initiating and signal circuits.

All pull stations are Notifier MPS-950B conventional pull stations, wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout the building, mounted on System Sensor B210LPA bases. There is one Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detector in the kitchen as a deficiency replacement, mounted on a System Sensor B300A-6 base. There are also Notifier FST-851A addressable thermal heat detectors in some areas.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.

Former System Specifications (2000s-2017)[edit | edit source]

System Specifications
FACP: Notifier AFP-200C
FACP Location: Unknown
System Type: Single-Stage Addressable
System Line Voltage: 120VAC
NAC Voltage: 24VDC
System Coding: Temporal?
Strobes Synchronized: No
Date of last known Upgrade: 2000s
Year Decommissioned: 2017

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building was protected by a Notifier AFP-200C addressable fire alarm system. The panel location was unknown. The system ran Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding was temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Common Areas[edit | edit source]

All common area notification appliances were EST 792-7A-006 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15/75cd).

Guest Rooms[edit | edit source]

All guest rooms had EST 692-7A-103 mini-horn/strobes (white, wall-mount, 15/75cd).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations were Notifier MPS-950B conventional pull stations. These were wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules. These are still in use on the current system.
