Stanley A. Milner Library is a library located at 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square, in Downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The library is owned and operated by the Edmonton Public Library. The library was built in 1967, and extensively renovated in 2020. The fire alarm system was upgraded as part of the 2020 renovation.

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation, however the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time.

Notification Appliances

All Simplex notification appliances are from Simplex's "TrueAlert" line of products.

Most notification appliances are Simplex 4906-9157 speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V/15cd).
Some areas have Simplex 4902-9721CA remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V).
Some areas with open ceilings have Simplex 4906-9153 speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, set to 70V/15cd).
The second floor has Simplex 4906-9104 remote strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).

The upper floor has TOA SC-630TU ULC-listed re-entrant horn speakers, with Simplex 4906-9101 remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).

The Makerspace area, and some other open ceiling areas have TOA PE-304WU ULC-listed speakers (white, pendant-mount), with Simplex 4906-9101 remote strobes or Simplex 4906-9104 remote strobes, depending on the area.

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building.

The kitchen has a Simplex 4098-9733 addressable fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector.

All detectors are mounted to Simplex 4098-9792 bases.

Modules

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Simplex 4090-9116 addressable isolator modules on all SLCs.

EOLs

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all signal and sprinkler circuits.
