Super 8 is a budget hotel chain owned by Wyndham. They are headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey, USA, and have locations worldwide. This particular hotel is located at 5220 2 Avenue, in Edson, Alberta, Canada. The hotel opened in 2006, and the fire alarm system is original.

The building is protected by an EST addressable fire alarm system. The model of the panel is unknown, but is believed to be a QuickStart QS4. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

All notification appliances are from EST's "Genesis" line of products.

All common area notification appliances are EST G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no lettering, set to 15cd).

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the hotel, mounted on SIGA-SB bases. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
