Best Western is a chain of budget hotels. The chain is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and has locations worldwide. This particular hotel is located at 1209 27 St, in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada. The hotel was built in 2009, and the fire alarm system is original excluding deficiency replacements.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule, and has 2 SLC loops installed (one LCM-320 and one LEM-320). The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Booster Panels[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FCPS-24S8C 8-amp booster power supplies in the laundry storage rooms on floors 1-3.
There is a Honeywell HPF-PS10B 10-amp booster power supply in the fourth floor laundry storage room as a deficiency replacement.
These power supplies feed the in-suite notification appliances on each floor.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All common areas have System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” P2RA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
All guest rooms have System Sensor SWA remote strobes (white, wall-mount, set to 15cd) paired with Notifier PA400SW-A silenceable mini-horns (white).

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations, wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in all common areas, storage rooms, the laundry chute, and the elevator machine room.
There are Notifier FSI-851A addressable ionization smoke detectors in some areas, including the lobby.
There are Notifier FST-851RA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in the laundry room and the pool pump room.
There is a Notifier FST-851A addressable 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector in the mechanical room.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on Notifier B710LPA bases.
There are System Sensor DNRA duct smoke detector housings with Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric heads on all air handling units.
