Spruce Ridge Estates is an apartment complex owned and operated by Boardwalk. This page will cover Building 5/7, located at 5/7 Hemlock Crescent SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1953, and was renovated in 1998. The fire alarm system was upgraded as part of the 1998 renovation, with a panel replacement occurring in the 2010s.
System Specifications (1998-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Mircom FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the west entrance vestibule of Building 5. The system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced a Notifier System 500.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There is a Mircom RAM-1032TZDS annunciator in the west entrance vestibule of Building 7, mounted in a Mircom BB-1001 enclosure.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All common areas have System Sensor “SpectrAlert” P2415A horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd).
All suites but one have System Sensor PA400SR-A silenceable mini-horns (red) paired with System Sensor S2415A remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd).
One suite has a System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” MHWZA silenceable mini-horn (white) paired with the aforementioned strobe.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
The pull stations are a mix of Notifier MPS-950B and Tyco/Grinnell MS-401GR conventional single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors in all corridors and at the top of each stairwell.
There are FDD “ThermoFlex” CR-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise in all under-stair storage rooms.
There are Mircom TD-200 conventional 200°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in the penthouse mechanical room.
There are System Sensor DH100PA addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors on each air handling unit.

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all circuits.
