Super 8 by Wyndham St Johns was a hotel located at 175 Higgins Line, in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. The hotel was built in 2006, and was closed and converted into a residential building in 2023. It is unknown if the fire alarm system remains original.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building was protected by an EST QuickStart QS4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel was located in the main entrance vestibule. The system ran EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding was temporal.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is an EST QuickStart QSA-2-S annunciator located behind the front desk. The annunciator is equipped with an EST QS4-CPU-2 control card and two SL30 zone annunciation cards.

Common Areas[edit | edit source]

There were Edwards "Genesis" G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no lettering, set to 15cd) throughout the hotel's common areas.

Guest Rooms[edit | edit source]

All guest rooms had Edwards 683-1CR silenceable mini-horns (red, wall-mount) and sounder bases.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations were EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There were EST SIGA-IPHS addressable ionization smoke detectors throughout all corridors and in all guest rooms.

Some areas had EST SIGA-PD addressable photoelectric smoke detectors as deficiency replacements.

These detectors were mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases in all common areas, and on EST SIGA-AB4G sounder bases in all guest rooms.

There were EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

There were EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules serving various purposes.

There were EST SIGA-IM addressable isolator modules on all SLCs.

There were Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
