The Brighton is an apartment building located at 11230 104 Ave NW, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The building is part of The Residences on 104th. The building was built in 2002, and the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in 2018.
System Specifications (2018-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Kidde VM-1 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Kidde’s GSA addressable protocol. The system coding is temporal for all common area devices, and continuous for all suite devices.
This panel was installed in 2018 replacing an Edwards EST2.
Booster Panels[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards BPS6A booster power supplies on each floor powering each floor’s signaling devices (common areas and in-suites).
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most common area notification appliances are EST “Genesis” G1R-HOV15 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, 15cd).
There are some Edwards G1AVRF horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, FIRE marking, set to 15cd) on the fifth floor as deficiency replacements.
All suites but one have Edwards 683-1C silenceable mini-horns (white) and EST G1R-V15 remote strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, 15cd).
One suite has a Mircom MH-S25WA silenceable mini-horn (white) as a deficiency replacement; the strobe was not replaced.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations but two are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.
There are two Vigilant GSA-M270 addressable single-action pull stations in the parkade as deficiency replacements.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Vigilant GSA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout all common areas.
There are Vigilant GSA-HRS addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in all janitor, storage and refuse rooms.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.
There are EST SIGA-DH addressable duct smoke detector housings with Vigilant GSA-PS addressable photoelectric heads on all make up air units but one.
The fifth floor make up air unit has a Vigilant “SuperDuct” GSA-SD addressable photoelectric duct smoke detector as a deficiency replacement.
There are System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in the garbage room, the bike storage room, and in the parkade by stall 170.
There are two Mircom TD-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in the parkade mechanical room.
All conventional detectors are wired to EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-WTM addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are EST SIGA-IM addressable isolator modules on all SLCs and on each floor.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all conventional heat detector circuits, and on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
