The Calgary Zoo is a large zoo in Calgary, Alberta. The zoo is owned by the Calgary Zoological Society. This page will cover the Kitamba Cafe, which is the main cafeteria building. It was built in 2002, and the fire alarm system is mostly original.

System Specifications[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and does code 3 in alarm.
This panel was installed in 2013, replacing a Notifier AFP-200 which was damaged by the 2013 floods.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are System Sensor “SpectrAlert” P2415A horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd). These are set on the electromechanical tone.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

Most pull stations are Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations.
There is a Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull station near some tables, installed as a deficiency replacement in 2007.
All pull stations are wired into Notifier MMX-101A addressable modules.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

None noticed.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
