Balmoral Court is a set of two 45+ only apartment buildings.. This page will cover the East wing, located at 17511 98A Ave NW, Edmonton, AB. The building was completed in 1992, and most of the fire alarm system is original.

System Specifications (1992-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Mircom FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is continuous.
The FA-1000 replaced the original Notifier System 5000 in 2018.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Notifier KMS-10-24VDC/P motor bells (10” gong).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action pull stations (side-reset).

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are System Sensor “i3” C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building. These replaced System Sensor 1400A conventional ionization smoke detectors.
The mechanical room has a Mircom TD-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector.
There are FDD CR-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in the elevator and social rooms.
The make-up air unit has an Edwards “SuperDuct” SD-2W conventional photoelectric duct smoke detector.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Mircom MP-300 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
