Vermilion Arena is an indoor arena located at 5514 47 Ave, Vermilion, Alberta, Canada. It was built around 1985 as an extension to the Vermilion Stadium, and the fire alarm system is mostly original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.
NOTE: This system only supervises the arena, and is not connected to the system in the stadium.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by an EST 6616 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located near the rear entrance. The system coding is temporal.
The 6616 replaced the original Edwards 2280 in the mid-1990s; the cabinet still exists beside the main FACP.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances in the common areas are Edwards "Durabel" 6100D vibrating bells (6" gong).
Inside the arena, there are Edwards "Adaptahorn" 885D horns (red, surface-mount).
There is a Mircom "Select-a-Horn/Strobe" FHS-240W horn/strobe (white, wall-mount, set to 15cd/continuous electromechanical) in the arena as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Edwards 281A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in some areas.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
