The Bay Centre is an indoor shopping mall located at 1150 Douglas Street, in Downtown Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The mall was built in 1989, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in the 2000s, with an FACP replacement occurring circa 2023.

System Specifications (2000s-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the parkade electrical room. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal coding is 20BPM, and the alarm signal coding is temporal.
This panel replaced an Edwards EST3.

Annunciators

There is an Edwards EST4-LCDANN annunciator at the Winners entrance.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Edwards MB10-24 motor bells (10" gong).
Some areas have Edwards MB6-24 motor bells (6" gong).
Some areas have Potter MBA-10-24 motor bells (10" gong) as deficiency replacements.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas, with Edwards SIGA-PD addressable photoelectric smoke detectors installed as deficiency replacements.
There are EST SIGA-HRS addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in some areas.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.
There are EST SIGA-DH duct smoke detector housings equipped with EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric heads on all air handling units.
There are Edwards EC-100R beam detectors in the atrium.
There is an FDD CR-135-EXP conventional explosionproof 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector in the flammable storage room.

Modules

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the flammable storage room heat detector, all beam detectors, all kitchen suppression systems, the fire pump's run and trouble contacts, and the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are EST SIGA-IM addressable isolator modules on all SLCs.

Ancillary Devices

There is a smoke control system in this building, protecting the main mall and the former Hudsons Bay space.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all circuits supervised by monitor modules, and on all signal circuits.
