NOTE: This is an hobby system, and is not an official fire alarm system. This system is installed in a private residence, therefore it does not need to meet CAN-ULC codes.

The Mayland House is a private residence located in Northeast Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The house was built in 1959, and the fire alarm system was installed in 2025.

System Specifications

FACP

The house is protected by an EST QuickStart QS4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main floor office/server room. The system runs EST's Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are EST "Genesis" G1R-HOV15 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, 15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in all bedrooms, the office, and all corridors and common areas.
There are EST SIGA-HRS addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in the washroom and kitchen.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.
There is an EST "SuperDuct" SIGA-SD addressable photoelectric duct smoke detector on the furnace duct.

There is an EST SIGA-CR addressable relay module for furnace shutdown.
There is an EST "Genesis SignalMaster" G1M-RM signal control module installed on NACs 1 and 2 for 4-wire operation and strobe synchronization.
