Genesis Centre

From FireAlarmPedia

Genesis Centre is a multi-purpose complex in Calgary, AB. It is located on Falconridge Blvd NE. It houses the Saddletowne YMCA, and other facilities. It was built in 2012, and has the original fire alarm system.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm panel is an EST QuickStart QS4, as confirmed by an annunciator. It is guaranteed that it is original, due to the GE logo. The system is two-stage, according to the pull stations. The panel is not visible.

Annunciators

There is an EST QS4-CPU-1 annunciator, with two SL30 zone cards at the main entrance.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are mainly Edwards MB10-24 motor bells on EST "Integrity" 403-5A-R strobe plates. In the fields, the bell/strobes have wire grills on them. In the feature gym, there are the mentioned bell/strobes on one side, and Mircom BL-10B motor bells on EST 403-5A-R strobe plates. Why the Mircom bells are there is unknown, but they are most likely original. In the community gym, there is one Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell on an EST 403-5A-R strobe plate, mixed in with the MB10-24 combos, also original. One of the MB10-24 bells has a green Skittles wrapper stuck to the striker.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable, two-stage pull stations. Most are original, although there is one replacement with the current EST logo, installed sometime after 2017.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke detectors are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
