System Type: Hybrid

System Line Voltage: 120VAC
NAC Voltage:24VDC
Date of last known Upgrade: 2020

Greyhound Canada was a long-distance bus system that operated in Western Canada until 2018 and Eastern Canada in 2021. This particular building is located in the Sunalta Area of Calgary and once housed Greyhound's office for all of Western Canada. It now sits vacant. It was constructed in 1986 and despite the building appearing very dated and having multiple roof leaks, the fire alarm system is not original. The system is serviced by A K Brown Ltd. User:Twentytwo22 got to do an annual test on this system.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm panel is a Simplex 4100U likely installed sometime in the 2000s it is single-stage and in alarm it does continuous. Likely due to strobes being installed in the garage area and only running on two wires.

Booster Panels

There are 2 Simplex 4009-9002 conventional NAC extenders installed in the garage area. One in the maintenance shop and one in a parking area.

Notification Appliances

The devices consist of Simplex 2901-9722 10 inch bells with some newer 2901-9724 replacement bells. In the gates and bus area they are attached to Wheelock RSSP-24MCW-FR (red, fire-marking) strobe plates with one random one strangely being retrofitted with a System Sensor SR remote strobe mounted below the bell.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are all Simplex 2099-9001 single action pull stations. With break rods installed. However there are 20 conventional zones still in use so it is likely some of these are still 2099-9754 pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are mostly Simplex 4098-9733 addressable heat detectors for detection. With Simplex 4098-9714 addressable smoke detectors installed in each stairwell. There is also Potter PS10 waterflow switches installed in several locations to monitor sprinklers.
