CrossIron Mills is a shopping mall located just north of Calgary, and near Balzac. It is the largest single-level shopping mall in Alberta, and is owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge. The mall was built in 2009, and everything except for the panel is original.

System Specifications

FACP

The mall is protected by a two-stage EST3 fire alarm system. The panels are likely located in security offices, but are not visible. They have been confirmed by an annunciator, which also states that the EST3 was installed pretty recently, sometime after 2018, replacing the original EST3. When the system goes into alarm, all strobes and horns are synchronized, and all horns do 20BPM in first stage, and code-3 in general alarm. The system currently has two supervisories.

Annunciators

There is an EST 3-6ANN LCD annunciator at the entrance to the Food Hall.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are EST "Integrity" 757-5A-T (red, 15cd) horn/strobes. They are mostly on the ceilings, but can be seen on the walls of some tenants. The mall's hallways have the mentioned horn strobes, as well as EST "Integrity" 757-1A-T (red) horns. They are in the pattern of horn/strobe, horn, horn/strobe, horn. The horn/strobes in the hallways mostly have LKC-1 ceiling FIRE orientation lenses, but some have the regular LKW-1 wall FIRE lenses.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are all EST (GE) SIGA-270P addressable two-stage pull stations, and are installed at every entrance/exit.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed, but probably some EST (GE) SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detector.
