Calgary Stampede Agriculture Building

From FireAlarmPedia
Revision as of 20:28, 29 July 2020 by Twentytwo22 (talk | contribs)

The Agriculture Building is a space for animal stalling and show preparation. It also has the Victoria Pavilion, an arena with seating for 1300 people. It also has three large pavilions, 6012 square meters combined. The system is not original, it is from 2013 when the floods happened in Calgary, though it is unknown when the facility was built.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm control panel is a large EST (GE) QuickStart QS4. It was installed in 2013, due to the floods. It is located in the lobby of the building. The panel cabinet is large because it most likely replaced an Edwards 6500. Despite the system being addressable, the system is part addressable, part conventional.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances vary and depend on the part of the building. The lobby has EST Genesis G1-HDVM (white, wall, no FIRE) horn/strobes from 2013 because the original alarms in there were destroyed from the flood. The part that has the animal stalls has a mix of Edwards 439D-10AWC and 439D-6AWC vibrating bells from the 1980s-90s. It is unknown what the alarms are in the other parts.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations vary on different parts of the building. The part where the animal stalls are has EST (GE) SIGA-270 pull stations from 2013, installed after the flood. The lobby where the horn/strobes are has Tyco/Grinnell rebranded Notifier MPS-950B. Why they are there is unknown. In the offices or a part that isn't open to the public but can be seen through windows, there are Edwards 274-111 pull stations from the 1980s-90s.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed.
