‘’’’Southland Station’’’’ is an LRT station in Calgary, Alberta. It serves the neighborhoods of Maple Ridge, Pump Hill, Palliser, Oakridge, and parts of Willow Park. This station shares a design with Heritage Station, and the fire alarm system is very similar. This station was also built in 1981, but the system here is not original.

System Specifications

FACP

The station is protected by an EST Quickstart QS1 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in a locked cabinet labeled “Fire Alarm Panel”, and was likely installed in the early 2010s. The system likely does code 3 in alarm.

Notification Appliances

Like Heritage Station, there is only one bell in the whole station. The bell here is a Mirtone 74328 vibrating bell (6” gong). It is located behind a metal grille, likely to prevent vandalism. The age of this bell is unknown.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

There is only one pull station, and it is an EST SIGA-270 Signature-series addressable single-action “teardrop” pull station. It was installed in the 2010s.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are several EST SIGA-PS Signature-series addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the station.
