‘’’Sandman’’’ is a chain of hotels headquartered in Vancouver, BC. They have 45 hotels in Canada, and 4 in the United Kingdom. This particular hotel is located in Red Deer, Alberta. It was built in 2000, and renovated in 2013. The system remains original despite the renovation.

System Specifications

FACP

The hotel is protected by an EST2 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown at this time. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol, and does code 3 in alarm.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are General Signal MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong) on EST “Integrity” 403-5A-R (15cd) strobe plates. In the pool area, the General Signal bell broke down, and was replaced with an Edwards MB10-24 motor bell (10” gong). The strobe plate is still intact. The guest rooms have EST 683-1CR silenceable mini horns (red), and Edwards 202-5A-T “Integrity” remote strobes (15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 Signature-series addressable single-action “teardrop” pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed, but should be present.
