‘’’’Comfort Inn’’’’ is a hotel chain owned by Choice hotels. They are headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, and have been around since 1939. This particular hotel is located in the Banff Trail neighborhood of Northwest Calgary, and was built in 2000. The fire alarm system is original.

System Specifications

FACP

The hotel is protected by a Notifier AFP-200C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance. The system runs Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and does code 3 in alarm.

Booster Panels

There is a Notifier FCPS-24S8C 8 amp booster power supply mounted next to the control panel.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are made by System Sensor. All public areas of the hotel have System Sensor “SpectrAlert” P241575A horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15/75cd). The rooms have System Sensor “SpectrAlert” S24110WA remote strobes (white, wall-mount, 110cd), as well as System Sensor PA400RA mini-horns.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action “tab” pull stations. These have Notifier MMX-101A CLIP addressable modules attached to them, as they are conventional.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor 1451A conventional ionization smoke detectors throughout the hotel.
