‘’’Comfort Inn’’’ is a hotel chain owned by Choice Hotels. They are headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. This particular hotel is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was built in 2000, and the fire alarm system is original except for one device.

System Specifications

FACP

The hotel is protected by an EST2 addressable fire alarm system. The panel model and location are unconfirmed, but is likely an EST2 based on the size and age of the hotel. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol, and does code 3 in alarm.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are from EST’s “Integrity” line of products. Most areas have Edwards 757-7A-T horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15/75cd). The guest rooms have Edwards “Powersaver Integrity” 202-75PS remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 75cd), along with Edwards 683-1CR silenceable mini horns. In a jacuzzi suite, the Edwards mini horn broke down, and was replaced with a System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” MHWZA silenceable mini horn (white, wall-mount).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 Signature-series addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS Signature-series addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the hotel.
