Stampede Grandstand

From FireAlarmPedia
Revision as of 20:28, 29 July 2020 by Twentytwo22 (talk | contribs)

The Stampede Grandstand is a 17,000 seat stadium in Stampede Park in SE Calgary, Alberta. It was built in 1974, but the system is not original. The stadium stands about 6 stories high. It is the home of the Stampede rodeo, the GMC Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon Races, and the Grand Stand show.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm control panel is a two-stage Notifier NFS2-3030C installed in 2013 after the 2013 Calgary flooding that destroyed the old fire alarm panel, which was likely a Notifier AFP1010. The panel is in an unknown location, as it is not visible.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P1224MC (red, wall) horn/strobes. They are everywhere inside the stadium, and in some areas of the seating area. They are from around 1997-2006, but it is unknown when they were installed.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are a mix of Notifier NFM-950KB and MPS-950KB. These were installed when the AFP1010 was installed, which was around 1997-2006. There is one Notifier N-MPS-2A pull station as a replacement, on the 2nd floor. It was installed sometime after 2013, as they are only compatible with the ONYX series.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed.
