Rona is a chain of hardware stores. This location is in the neighborhood of Midnapore, and was built in 1988 as Totem Building Supplies, but was converted into a Rona in the late 2000s. The fire alarm system, however, was NOT affected by these changes, and is original from 1988. The panel, some bells and most pulls are original. The store has been closed since January 2020, but the building and fire alarm system is still up, and users Simplex NimrodES and YYCFireAlarmNimrod will be trying to salvage the system as there are lots of rare goodies..
System Specifications
Panel
The panel is a Mirtone 7800, located in the entrance of the store. This panel was installed in 1988, and is original to the store itself. Since there were no coding options on the 7800, the system does continuous.
Notification Appliances
The notification appliances are bells, as per the standard back in 1988. The original bells are Mirtone 74303 vibrating bells, in which some are still up and working. Some Mirtone bells failed or quit working and were replaced with many other signals. Replacement alarms in the store are Wheelock MBS-G6-24 motor bell/strobes, MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes, MB-G6-24 motor bells and MB-G10-24 motor bells, likely from the 1990s. The odd one out replacement bell there that has been installed in the late 2010s is a Simplex 2901-9723 motor bell.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
The main pull stations there are Mirtone 73201 dual-action pull stations, original from 1988. There is only one replacement pull, and it is a Mircom MS-401 installed in the 2010s.
