Scotiabank Theatre is a theatre chain owned by Cineplex. This particular theatre is located at 6455 Macleod Trail Southwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The theatre is attached to CF Chinook Centre, however the fire alarm systems are not connected. The theatre opened in 2001, following the large expansion and renovation of the mall. The fire alarm system is original with the exception of the FACP and smoke detectors. The system is serviced by Guardian Electric.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3X addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main lobby, to the left of the escalators. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. First stage coding is 20BPM, followed by temporal in general alarm. This panel replaced an Edwards EST3, of which the cabinet remains, and is used as a junction box.

Annunciators

There is an Edwards EST3-LCDANN annunciator near the west entrance.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong) on EST 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Edwards SIGA-PD addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.
