Suncor Energy Centre is a large office complex located at 111 5 Avenue Southwest, in Downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The complex was formerly known as Petro-Canada Centre. The complex opened in 1984, and the fire alarm system was fully upgraded in the early 2000s.
System Specifications (2000s-present)
FACP
The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The system is networked with many panels; the main nodes are located in the CACF room on the main floor. The system runs Edwards’ Signature addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation. The first stage signal is a 20BPM tone, followed by 120BPM in general alarm, with a voice message. Please see below for the message script.
Annunciators
There is an Edwards EST3-LCDANN annunciator in the parkade elevator lobby.
Notification Appliances
All notification appliances are Edwards 965-3A-8RW speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, 70V, 30cd).

Pull Stations
All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases. The building is also equipped with a wet sprinkler system.
Modules
There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
