The Diplomat is a small 5 story apartment building located at 709 14 Ave SW, Calgary, AB. It was built in 1961, and the fire alarm system was installed in the late 80s. Like many small apartment buildings it consists of a 120V circuit connected to AC Bells via the pull stations.
System Specifications (1980s-present)
FACP
The building is protected by a hardwired 3-wire 120V fire alarm system, so there is no panel. There is a fused disconnect on the first floor with the electric meters labeled FIRE and painted red. This isn't a "panel" but it is a main shutoff for the 120v. Therefore, the system coding is continuous.
Notification Appliances
The notification appliances consist of Simplex 2901-9708 120VAC vibrating bells (6" gong, white). They seem to be a rare bell as there is no information on Google about this model.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
The pull stations all appear to be early Simplex 2099-9754 pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are American Sensors ESA4011 120VAC ionization smoke alarms that use a relay in parallel with the pull stations. There is also a Mirtone 73330 fixed-temperature Heat Detector in the laundry room outside the boiler room.
