The University at Albany is a public research university with campuses in Albany, Rensselaer and Guilderland, NY. It was founded in 1844, is part of the State University of New York system, and enrolls over 17,900 students.The Uptown Campus in Albany is most known for being in weatherdan882002’s UAlbany fire alarm and fire drill videos. This page will cover the University Hall, the administration building. The building was built in 2005, and has the original fire alarm system.

System Specifications (2005-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the Fire Command Center on the first floor of the entrance. There are no visible annunciators in this building. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Wheelock AS-24MCW horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, multi-candela), installed throughout, including single-toilet bathrooms. There are no outdoor notification appliances.

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9003 dual-action addressable pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout, mounted on 4098-9792 bases. There are also beam detectors located in the atrium area, model number to be confirmed. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
