The Thornhill Aquatic & Recreation Centre is a pool and recreation centre owned and operated by the City of Calgary. The pool is located at 6715 Centre Street Northwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and is attached to the Murray T. Copot Arena. The building was built in 1972, expanded in 2003, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in the late 2000s.

FACP
The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the arena electrical room. The system runs Mircom’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.
The FX-2000 replaced an EST QuickStart QS1 in 2007.
Annunciators
There is a Mircom RAX-LCD annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.
Notification Appliances
Most areas have Edwards MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong) mounted on Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd).
The pool lobby and corridor have Edwards MB6-24 motor bells (6” gong) mounted on Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd).

Pull Stations
All pull stations are Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Mircom MIX-2251BA addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas.
Other areas have Mircom MIX-5251RA addressable 135°F fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B710LPA bases.
Modules
There are Mircom MIX-M500MA addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
