Mitford School is a middle school located at 110 Quigley Drive, in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. The school is part of the Rocky View School District. The school opened in 1993, and the fire alarm system is mostly original.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.
This panel was installed in 2015 and replaced a Simplex 4002.

Notification Appliances

Most areas have Simplex 2901-9722 motor bells (10” gong).
Most bells are mounted behind grilles, and are mounted on Simplex 4903-9101 strobe plates in one hallway.
One classroom has a Simplex 2901-9723 motor bell (6” gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (set to 15cd).
For outdoor notification, there are Simplex 2901-9722 motor bells (10” gong), with one Simplex 2901-9724 motor bell (10” gong) as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
