2 Bloor East is an office and retail complex located at 2 Bloor St E, The Residences of 8 Park Road is a condominium building located at 8 Park Road, and W Toronto is a 4-star hotel owned by Marriott located at 90 Bloor St E. All of these businesses share one very large complex in Toronto, Ontario. The complex was originally built in 1974, the hotel in 1976 and the apartment building in 2003. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2003, and again in 2022.

FACP
The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel locations are unknown, but are part of a network. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice-evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation, however the tones and messages are unknown at this time.
The 4100ES replaced a Simplex 4100U network in 2022.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Simplex 2902-9311 speakers (ceiling-mount, round, 4”, 70V), throughout all phases of the building.
The fitness centre in W Toronto has the aforementioned speakers with System Sensor “L-Series” SCRLA remote strobes (red, ceiling-mount, set to 30cd) next to them, installed in 2022.
The higher ceilings in 2 Bloor East and the hotel floors of W Toronto have Simplex 2902-9317 speakers (ceiling-mount, 8”, square, 70V).
Some renovated areas in W Toronto have Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9154 speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on 4098-9792 bases.
W Toronto still has some Simplex 2098-9544 conventional ionization smoke detectors left over.
Modules
There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
