Acadia Aquatic and Fitness Centre is a swimming pool/fitness centre located at 9009 Fairmount Drive SE, Calgary, AB. It is owned and operated by the city of Calgary. It was built in 1961 as an outdoor pool, built over in 1967, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 1993, and again in 2009.

FACP
The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Mircom's CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10” gong, 1.5cd).
The main lobby has a Wheelock MBS-G6-24 motor bell/strobe (6” gong, 1.5cd).
The men’s locker room has a System Sensor SSM24-10A motor bell (10” gong) mounted on the original strobe plate as a deficiency replacement.
There is an Edwards MB10-24 motor bell (10” gong) mounted on an Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plate (15cd) in the pool area.
The pool mechanical room has an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell (10” gong) mounted remotely.
The aerobics gym has Mircom “Select-A-Horn/Strobe” FHS-240R horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to electromechanical/15cd).
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All pull stations but one are Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations.
There is a Mircom MS-401AP addressable single-action pull station at the west pool area exit as a deficiency replacement.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Mircom MIX-5251RA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in all areas except the pool area and aerobics gym.
The aerobics gym has Mircom MIX-2251BA addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B710LPA bases.
Modules
There is a Mircom MIX-M500MA addressable monitor module supervising the Lord Beaverbrook School system, and a Mircom MIX-M500RA addressable relay activating that system. <brThe Lord Beaverbrook School is wired to activate the pool’s system, and vice versa.
