The University at Albany is a public research university with campuses in Albany, Rensselaer and Guilderland, NY. It was founded in 1844, is part of the State University of New York system, and enrolls over 17,900 students. The Uptown Campus in Albany is most known for being in weatherdan882002’s UAlbany fire alarm and fire drill videos. This page will cover the Science Library. The building was built in 1999, expanded in 2008 to add more offices. The fire alarm system remains original. This is the only non-Simplex system on campus.

FACP
The library is protected by a Notifier NFS-320 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown, but is most likely in an electrical or mechanical room. It was installed after the remodel in 2008. The system runs Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Annunciators
There is a Notifier LCD-80TM LCD annunciator at the entrance.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Wheelock MT-24-LSM multi-tone horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15/75cd).
There are some Wheelock MT-241575W multi-tone horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15/75cd) installed as deficiency replacements in the lobby. These horn/strobes are set to temporal horn.
In the bathrooms, there are Wheelock RSS-241575W remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 15/75cd).
All notification appliances in the 2008 expansion are from System Sensor's "SpectrAlert Advance" line of products.
Most of them are System Sensor P2R horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15/75cd) as well as System Sensor SR remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15/75cd).
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
Most pull stations are Notifier NBG-101LX addressable dual-action pull stations.
The 2008 expansion has Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
The smoke detectors are mostly Notifier SDX-551 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors, mounted on BX501 bases.
In the renovated area, there are Notifier FSP-851 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors, mounted on B210LP bases.
There is also a Bosch-Radionics D296T beam smoke detector in the lobby, wired to a Notifier MMX-101 addressable module.
