West Villages Elementary School is an elementary school located at 760 Osterville West Barnstable Rd, Marstons Mills, MA. It was built in 1988, and the fire alarm system was upgraded several times, with some speaker/strobes being original.

System Specifications (2000s-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main office. The system is equipped with voice-evacuation. The alarm tone is not generated by the panel, but the Bogen Multicom 2000 intercom system connected by a relay. The Multicom 2000 is set to ALARM 1, a fast whoop tone.

There is a graphic annunciator outside the school.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are the original Edwards 896B-001 speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, 70V, 0.2cd).
Some areas have EST 765-7A-006 speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15/75cd).
There are Wheelock E70-24MCW speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) as deficiency replacements.
There are also EST “Genesis” G4-S7VM speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, no marking, set to 30cd) in newly renovated areas.
The Multicom also sounds the alarm over the school’s public address system.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

Most pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations.
There are Fire-Lite BG-12 conventional dual-action pull stations installed as deficiency replacements.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards 6250 conventional ionization smoke detectors throughout the school.
Some areas have System Sensor 2100 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors as deficiency replacements, mounted on B110LP bases.
There are also System Sensor “i3” C2W-B conventional photoelectric smoke detectors as deficiency replacements.
