The Calgary Public Building is a historic office building located at 205 8 Avenue SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building is owned and operated by the City of Calgary. The building was built in 1931, and renovated in 2011. The fire alarm system was upgraded as part of the 2011 renovation.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm system. There are 3 nodes on the system: Node 1 is located at the main entrance, Node 2 is in the 3rd floor electrical room, and Node 3 is in the 7th floor electrical room. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal. Synchronization is provided by System Sensor MDLA sync modules at each node.

Automatic Detection Devices
There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in all mechanical and electrical rooms, and in the elevator lobbies and stairwells, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
