Arts Commons (formerly EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts) is a multi-venue arts centre located at 205 8 Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta. It measures over 560,000 square feet, and has six theatres. The building opened in 1985 as the Calgary Centre for the Performing Arts, was expanded in 1994, and was renovated in 2004. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2004.

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The system is a network, the main node is in the CACF room. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice-evacuation. The tones and/or messages are unknown at this time.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are EST “Integrity” 965-5A-8RW speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, 8”, round, 15cd).
There are EST 965-1A-8RW speakers (white, ceiling-mount, 8”, round) in common areas for additional audible coverage,.
Jack Singer Concert Hall and Big Secret Theatre have EST 965-5A-8SW speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, 8”, square, 15cd), painted over and fitted with LKW-1R lenses (red, wall FIRE orientation) to blend in.
The back hallways with open ceiling areas and Max Bell Theatre have EST 965-5A-8SW speaker/strobes (white, 8”, square, 15cd, ceiling-mount in most, wall-mount in some hallways).
Some common areas have EST “Genesis” G4-S7VM speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).
Engineered Air Theatre has EST G4R-S7VM speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.
