The Calgary Fire Department is the fire department serving the City of Calgary. This page will cover the apparatus repair shop, located at 1755 18 Avenue NE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 2009, and the fire alarm system is original.
System Specifications
FACP
The building is protected by a Simplex 4008 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the Door 20 warehouse entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Simplex 2901-9723 motor bells (6” gong).
The apparatus bay has Simplex 2901-9724 motor bells (10” gong) in addition to the aforementioned bells.
There are Mircom BL-10B motor bells (10” gong) in the apparatus bay as deficiency replacements.
There is an Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bell (6” gong) in the apparatus bay as a deficiency replacement.
All bells are mounted on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW-FR strobe plates (set to 15cd).

Pull Stations
All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9001 addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in all stairwells and in the elevator shaft.
There are Simplex 4098-9733 addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in the mechanical room, electrical rooms, and the elevator machine room.
All detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
Modules
There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
