HI Kananaskis Wilderness Hostel is a hostel located at 1 Ribbon Creek Rd, Kananaskis, AB. It was built around 1963, and the fire alarm system was upgraded around 1989.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by an Edwards 6616 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance, and has 12 zones in use. The system coding is continuous.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6” gong).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Edwards 275-C111 conventional pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are System Sensor 1412A ionization smoke detectors located throughout the hostel.

There are Edwards 282A rate-of-rise/fixed heat detectors in certain areas, including the washrooms.

There is also a System Sensor 5601A rate-of-rise/fixed heat detector in a storage room as a deficiency replacement.
