The Calgary Fire Department is the fire department serving the City of Calgary. This page will cover Station 18, located at 415 68 Ave NW, Calgary. The station was built in 1975, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2010.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9127 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
The dorm rooms have Simplex 4901-9852C mini-horns (white, wall-mount, silenceable).
For exterior notification, there is a Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9105 weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 60cd).

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004 addressable single-action pull stations, installed in the late 2010s.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 4098-9733 addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout the building.
The corridors, stairwells and dorm rooms have Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
All detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
The air handling units have Simplex 4098-9756 addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors.

There are Simplex 4090-9116 addressable IDNet isolator modules on the SLCs.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.
