5578 Signal Hill Drive SW is the address of a midsized shopping plaza located in Signal Hill Centre, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The plaza contains Wine & Beyond, Dollarama, Winners, Chatters, and numerous vacant units. The plaza opened in 1998, and the fire alarm system is original.

FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Notifier AFP-400 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main sprinkler room at the rear of the building. The system runs Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is likely temporal.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There are two Notifier LCD-80 annunciators on the system: one in the Staples entrance vestibule, and one outside the building.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Dollarama[edit | edit source]
The notification appliances are a mix of System Sensor P2RLA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) and System Sensor PC2RLA horn/strobes (red, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd). These were installed in 2020 when it opened.
Winners[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Wheelock MB-G10-24 motor bells (10” gong) mounted on Wheelock RSSP-2415W strobe plates (15cd).
Staples[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances but one are Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bells (6” gong) mounted on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates (set to 15cd). There is one Notifier KMS-6-24A motor bell (6” gong) mounted on the original strobe plate as a deficiency replacement.

All pull stations are Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action pull stations, wired to Notifier MMX-101A addressable monitor modules.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
None noticed.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are Notifier MMX-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
