Monsignor A. J. Hetherington School is a catholic elementary school located at 4 Coral Springs Blvd NE, Calgary, AB. It is part of the Calgary Catholic School District, teaches grades K-6 and has an enrollment of about 300 students. It was built in 1994, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2012; the pull stations are original.

The building is protected by an EST QuickStart QSC conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the caretaker’s office. The system coding is temporal.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There is an EST QSA-1-S cabinet with a QSC-CPU-1 LCD annunciator and SL30 LED annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All indoor notification appliances are EST “Genesis” G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no lettering, set to 15cd).
For exterior notification, there are EST “Integrity” 757-8A-T horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 110cd).

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are the original Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EC30U-3 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building.
There are Edwards EC20RRU-3 fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors in some areas; these replaced Edwards 281C fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors after being recalled.
There are also Edwards 6266C-001 photoelectric duct smoke detectors in 6260B housings, located throughout the building behind the ceiling tiles, wired to 6262B-001 test stations/alarm indicators.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all circuits.

The building was protected by an EST ESA2000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel was located in the caretaker’s office. The system coding was continuous.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There was an EST annunciator in the main entrance vestibule, model to be confirmed.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most notification appliances were Wheelock MBS-G6-24 motor bell/strobes (6” gong, 1.5cd).
The gymnasium had Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10” gong, 1.5cd) due to higher ambient noise levels.
For exterior notification, there were Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6” gong).

There were also Edwards 6266C-001 photoelectric duct smoke detectors in 6260B housings, located throughout the building behind the ceiling tiles, wired up to 6262B-001 test stations/alarm indicators, these remain.
