Glendale Secondary School is a secondary school located at 145 Rainbow Drive, Hamilton, Ontario. It is part of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, and enrolls over 1,100 students. The school was built in 1959, and the fire alarm system was mostly upgraded in the mid-1990s.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. It replaced a Simplex 4002 in the 2000s. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is likely temporal.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There is a Simplex 4603-9101 LCD annunciator at the entrance, retrofitted in a Simplex 4602 cabinet.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Simplex 12901-9802 remote mechanical horns (red, flush-mount). These are mostly mounted on the ceilings, but can be found on the walls in some areas.

All pull stations are Simplex 2099-9754 conventional single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
Most smoke detectors are a mix of Simplex 2098-9201 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors and Simplex 2098-9110 conventional ionization smoke detectors, found throughout. There are Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors and Simplex 4098-9733 addressable fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors as deficiency replacements; these are mounted on 4098-9792 bases.
