Oliver East is a luxury apartment building located at 524 10 Ave SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 2022, and the fire alarm system is original.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Mircom FlexNet addressable fire alarm system. This is a networked system with 4 nodes; Node 1 is located in the CACF Room on the Main Floor, Node 2 is located in the 7th Floor Electrical Room, Node 3 is located in the 17th Floor Electrical Room, and Node 4 is located in the 26th Floor Electrical Room. The system runs Mircom’s Advanced addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation; the alert signal is a 20BPM tone, and the alarm signal is a temporal tone. Please see below for message scripts and sequence of operation.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

The upper floor common areas and suite living areas have System Sensor “L-Series” SPSCWLA speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V/15cd).
Other areas have System Sensor SPSWLA speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, set to 70V/15cd).
The suite bedrooms have System Sensor SPCWLA remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V).
The lounge has System Sensor SPSBLA and SLSCBLA speaker/strobes (black, wall/ceiling-mount, assumed model no.).
For outdoor notification, there is a System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” SRKA weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount) outside the main entrance.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Mircom MS-402AP addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Mircom MIX-2251APA addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout all upper floor common areas, and at the top of each stairwell and elevator shaft.
There is a Mircom MIX-2351APA addressable photoelectric smoke detector in one elevator lobby as a deficiency replacement.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on System Sensor B210LPA bases.
There are System Sensor DNRA duct smoke detector housings with Mircom MIX-2251BA addressable photoelectric heads on all make up air units.

There are Mircom MIX-M500MAPA addressable monitor modules supervising the kitchen suppression systems, the generator run/trouble contacts, and the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Mircom MIX-M500RAPA addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Mircom MIX-M500FPA addressable firefighter’s telephone modules supervising all fire phones.
There are System Sensor M500XA isolator modules on all SLCs.

There are Mircom FT-300A firefighter’s telephones at each stairwell exit on every floor.

There are Mircom MP-300 end of line resistor plates on all circuits supervised by monitor modules, and all signal circuits.
