Killarney Aquatic & Recreation Centre is an indoor swimming pool and recreation centre located at 1919 29 St SW, Calgary, AB. The facility is owned and operated by the City of Calgary. It was built in 1963, and the fire alarm system was fully upgraded in 2012.
System Specifications (2012-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Vigilant VS1 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Vigilant’s GSA addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Booster Panels[edit | edit source]
There is an Edwards BPS6A 6-amp power supply above the ceiling in the main entrance vestibule.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances except one are Edwards MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong) mounted on EST “Integrity” 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd).
There is a Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10” gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW-FR strobe plate (red, set to 15cd) in the pool area as a deficiency replacement.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are Vigilant GSA-M270 addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Vigilant V-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in the stairwells and mechanical room.
The tunnel entrance and elevator machine room have Vigilant V-HRS addressable analog 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All detectors are mounted on Edwards B4U bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are Vigilant GSA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are two Vigilant GSA-IM addressable isolator modules on the SLC.
There are Vigilant GSA-CR addressable relays for PA/Music shutdown, building management system and door magnet release (Edwards 1508-AQN5).
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
