The Rec Room is a chain of entertainment restaurants owned by Cineplex. It has of arcade games, pool tables, and a climbing wall. This page will cover the Calgary location, located at 1180-901 64 Ave NE in Deerfoot City, NE Calgary. The building was built in 1980, and the entertainment complex was opened in 2017. The fire alarm system was installed in 2017.

NOTE: This page only covers the Rec Room, as it has a separate system from the rest of the building.

System Specifications (2017-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The facility is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice-evacuation. The system is also configured for two stage operation. The alert signal is 20BPM 1kHz tone, followed by a temporal 1kHz tone for the alarm signal. The system does not play voice messages.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is an EST 3-6ANN annunciator in the entrance vestibule, and the annunciator has a 3-REMICA microphone on it.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All indoor notification appliances are from EST's "Genesis" line of products.

First Floor[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are EST G4R-S7VM speaker/strobes (red, wall, no lettering, set to 15cd, 70V), and EST G4-S7 speakers (white, wall-mount, no lettering).

There is an EST GC-S7 speaker (white, ceiling-mount, 70V) in the vestibule.

Second Floor[edit | edit source]

The second floor has the two aforementioned speakers and speaker/strobes, and the drop ceiling area has EST GC-S7 speakers (white, ceiling mount, no lettering) and EST GC-S7VM speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, no lettering, set to 30cd)

Patio[edit | edit source]

The notification appliances on the patio are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" SPCWK weatherproof speakers (white, ceiling-mount) and Edwards CS405-8A-T weatherproof remote strobes (red, 110cd). Depending on the mounting, they either have LKW-1 wall orientation lenses or LKC-1 ceiling orientation lenses.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two stage pull stations. There is one outside on the patio, under a Stopper cover.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards SIGA-PD addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.

There are Edwards "SuperDuct" SIGA-SD addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors on the air handling unit.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relays serving various purposes.

There are EST SIGA-IM addressable isolators on the SLC.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
