The Calgary Fire Department is the fire department serving the City of Calgary. This page will cover Station 29, located at 7027 Coach Hill Road SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The station was built in 1988, and the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in 2010.
System Specifications (2010-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Simplex 4010 hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main control room, adjacent to the main entrance. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6” gong).
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9601 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the living quarters of the station.
The apparatus bay, storage rooms and some closets/rooms have a mix of the following conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors:
- Edwards 281C
- FDD CR-135
- System Sensor 5601A
- Potter CR-135W.
The mechanical room and former generator room have Simplex 4098-9733 addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
All conventional zones are supervised by Simplex 4090-9101 addressable monitor modules.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules present on the system.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all conventional and signal circuits.
