Oilfields General Hospital is a hospital located at 717 Government Road, in Black Diamond, Alberta, Canada. The hospital is owned and operated by Alberta Health Services. The hospital was built in 1984, and expanded in 1991. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2010.

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the maintenance office. The system runs Edwards’ Signature addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert coding is 20BPM, and the alarm coding is temporal.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EST3-LCDANN annunciators at all nurse’s stations and in the main entrance vestibule. All annunciators are equipped with Edwards LCDXL1 displays.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Edwards “Genesis” G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in most areas. There are EST SIGA-HRS addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in some areas. All detectors are mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.

The building was protected by an Edwards Custom 6500 conventional fire alarm system. The panel was located in the maintenance office. The system was configured for two-stage operation. The alert coding was 20BPM, and the alarm coding was 120BPM march time.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There were Edwards annunciators in some areas, model to be confirmed. Some of these are still installed, but disconnected.

All notification appliances were Edwards “Adaptabel” 333D single-stroke bells (6” gong).

All pull stations were Edwards 270-GAO conventional two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There were System Sensor 1400A conventional ionization smoke detectors in some areas. Most areas had Edwards 281C conventional heat detectors. There were Edwards 6260B-100 duct smoke detectors with 6250C heads on all air handling units.
