Red Crow Community College is a college located on Blood 148, Stand Off, Alberta, on the Kainai Nation reserve. The new facility was completed in 2022 when the original campus was destroyed in 2015 from a fire. The fire alarm system is original.
System Specifications (2022-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main electrical room. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable initiating and IDNAC addressable signaling protocols, and is configured for two-stage operation. Alert signal coding is 20BPM, followed by temporal in alarm signal. One NAC is on IDNAC, the other is SmartSync.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There is a Simplex 4603-9101 LCD annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All indoor notification appliances are from Simplex’s “TrueAlert ES” line of addressable products.
Most notification appliances are Simplex 49AV-WRF addressable horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd)
Some areas have Simplex 49VO-WRF addressable remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
For exterior notification, there is a Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9131 weatherproof horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 60cd).

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in most areas, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
There are System Sensor 2151A conventional photoelectric smoke detectors for damper control, mounted on System Sensor B116LPA relay bases. These are wired to Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches, the damper smoke detectors and kitchen suppression system.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules for door release and for shutting down the make-up air units.
There are Simplex 4090-9116 IDNet addressable isolator modules on each SLC.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 2081-9040C end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler circuits and the outdoor signal circuit.
