System Specifications (1994-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Mircom FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is temporal.

This panel replaced an EST 6616 in 2017 after a main board failure.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All original notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10” gong, 1.5cd).

There is an Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bell (6” gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-2415W strobe plate (red, 15cd) in the senior high hallway portable unit.

There are numerous deficiency replacements;

  • Two Mircom BL-10B motor bells (10” gong) mounted on the original Wheelock strobe plates (1.5cd) by room 1016 and in the gym hallway
  • Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10” gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (red, set to 15cd) outside room 1040
  • Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell (10” gong) mounted on Wheelock VLPS-24 strobe plate (1.5cd) near room 1030
  • Several Notifier KMS-10-24VDC/P motor bells (10” gong) mounted on Wheelock RSSP-2415W strobe plates (15cd) on the second floor
  • Notifier KMS-10-24VDC/P motor bell (10" gong) on the original Wheelock strobe plate by the library.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

Most pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

There is a Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull station at the west entrance as a deficiency replacement.

The second floor classrooms have Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

Outside the locker rooms and in the stairwells, there are System Sensor 1412A conventional 2-wire ionization smoke detectors.

The senior high hallway portable unit has one Edwards EC30U-3 conventional photoelectric smoke detector.

Some areas have FDD CR135 conventional fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors.

The gym office has a System Sensor 5601A conventional fixed/rate-of-rise heat detector.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards EOL-P1 and Notifier EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.

Known Activations[edit | edit source]

At 1:05 PM on November 28, 2022, the fire alarm was activated via a second floor pull station. The principal saw smoke in the classroom and activated the alarm. The cause of the smoke was found to have been a school bus idling beside an air intake. Students were allowed to return to the building at 2:30 PM.
