Balmoral Court is a set of two 45+ only apartment buildings.. This page will cover the West wing, located at 17519 98A Ave NW, Edmonton, AB. The building was completed in 1993, and most of the fire alarm system is original.
System Specifications (1993-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Mircom FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is continuous.
The FA-1000 replaced the original Notifier System 5000 in 2018.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Notifier KMS-10-24VDC/P motor bells (10” gong).
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations but one are Notifier FM-950B conventional single-action pull stations (front-reset).
There is a Fire-Lite MPS-950BF conventional single-action pull station at the entrance as a deficiency replacement.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are System Sensor “i3” C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building. These replaced System Sensor 1400A conventional ionization smoke detectors.
The mechanical room has a Mircom TD-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector.
There is an FDD CR-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector in the elevator room.
The make-up air unit has a System Sensor “InnovairFlex” D2A conventional photoelectric duct smoke detector.

There are Mircom MP-300 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
